Patina Patina PatinaMiller played the role of Lead Player as the Leading Player in Miller's role as the Leading Player in Broadway production of Stephen Schwartz's famous 1972 musical "Pippin". The Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" and also starred Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the others in the cast. Patina has put her own contemporary twist on Ben Vereen's part and did a great job at mastering the Fosse movements that were so important to the show. The performance of Patina earned her a Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Lead Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was also given for Outstanding Actress. From December 2012 until Jan. 2013, she played The Leading Player of American Repertory Theatre's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
